How to Repair Honda Wave 125 Front Shock

BikerStroke – Welcome back to the automotive blog, front shocks on motorcycles are often damaged. Incidentally, we will discuss how to repair the front shock of the Honda Wave 125, before we repair the front shock of the Honda Wave 125. We must pay attention to the condition of the inner tube, whether the component has a chrome layer that is scuffed and damaged. If the inner tube is not damaged, then we can replace the shock seal and dust seal only. Without having to replace the inner tube, because the price of the inner tube is quite expensive bro. It's different if the inner tube is scuffed and damaged, the solution is to replace the inner tube. There are 2 types of front shock on the Honda Wave 125, namely the clip model and the screw model. For this article, we will focus on discussing the threaded front shock model, if by chance it is wave 125 then you can do it immediately.

How to Repair the Honda Wave 125 Front Shock fi

Before we start repairing, we have to prepare some equipment. Such as keys T8 mm, T10 mm, L 10 mm, L 6 mm, L star T40, key ring 14 – 17 mm, ring 17 – 19 mm and a min screwdriver (-).

The first step we will do is remove the front wheel by using a ring lock 14-17 mm and a ring 17-19 mm.

Then remove the front sparkboard using an 8 mm T key, it will show the position of the inner tube.

Next remove the 14 mm bolt using a 14 mm ring wrench. And don't forget to pull down the front shock.

After that loosen the bolt at the bottom of the shock using a 6 mm L wrench and remove the upper shock cover bolt using a 10 mm L wrench.

Then the front shock can be released separately.

Then remove the dust seal using a min (-) screwdriver and remove the locking wire on the oil seal bag.

Remove the oil seal using the tip of the T wrench.

If the oil seal has been removed then clean the components on the front shock using gassoline.




The next step is to install the oil seal by using the used seal as a medium for hitting. And reinstall the locking wire along with the dust seal, for more details, please watch the video above, bro.
